Hi everyone. I’m new to surf fishing and fishing in general. I’ve been surf fishing with my friends a lot lately and I’ve been thinking of buying a rod for myself. We fish in the Oceanside/carlsbad area for mostly surf perch. From what I’ve read, it sounds like I need to be fishing a Carolina rig. I was looking at this Daiwa Surf Combo and wanted to know if this is what I was looking for. I was looking at the 9’ 4500 size reel option in medium heavy. It doesn’t have to be a combo either if anyone has any other recommendations. Tips are welcome as well. Thank you for your help!
