6/5 – After two days of catching mullet and rays in the surf decided to try for something different and hit Rodanthe Pier for a few hours in the morning to toss Gotchas. Only managed to snag a ray. Calm, cloudy water with rays everywhere. Saw one tiny blue and a spot caught. Waded the sound south of Rodanthe Day Use Area around dusk and managed one small flounder in a harsh west wind.
6/6 – Son wanted to fish Bonner Bridge Pier in constant 20-30 mph winds from the west. Tried persuading him to try somewhere else but he insisted and lasted about 20 minutes before asking to go. We ended up fishing ~1 hour and only saw one fish landed with none of our own.
6/7 – Fished surf in Rodanthe from daylight-9:30. Still persistent west winds and rough, dirty water. One 10” mullet and a crab on sand fleas.
6/8 – Fished Ramp 27 from ~8:30-Noon. Winds calmer and shifted to north. Clean, calm water. Hooked 3 rays, landed two. Also brought in a nice mullet on sand fleas and a smaller blue on cut bait.
