I’m planning a trip to south padre island to do some surf fishing for the first time. My friends and I are looking to target shark as we live about 5 hours from the coast and we only do fresh water fishing. Only experience salt water fishing is a handful of trips where we fished off the jetties. That being said we don’t have any experience fishing for sharks. Any tips on gear, rigging etc is greatly appreciated.
We don’t plan on any sort of giant obviously but want to make sure our rods are strong enough. I have this 10’ ugly stick but am open to getting anything heavier if needed.
