If I get a decent setup could this be used as a shark rod?
Found this on sale for prime day and looks like a solid pickup. Heard there rods are pretty nice and I’m thinking about using it as a shark rod. Please let me know your guys thoughts.

Yes, I use a 4500 reel and it works fine

The Penn pursuit 4 with the 8k series reel is what I was using to catch small to medium sharks until I upgraded. It handled 5ft bull sharks with ease.
The 8k series reel holds about 300 yards of 80lb braid, so you can’t paddle bait out using it or anything but if you’re just casting out there it does good. I love mine and would buy another.
If you want a better shark setup with more capability to hold line look at the senators, you’d have to buy a rod separate and would come out in the $300-$450 range with rod, reel, and 700 yards of 80lb depending on what rod and size senator you go with.
