Hi guys,I just bought my new surf rod but the joint between the butt and middle piece can't go in even half.what are you guys suggest

They are not meant to go all the way. It should be fine to fish.

Take it back apart and put a little smear of grease on it before reassembly. Just a light coating.
You want it to be seated as well as possible or you risk breaking it (I know because I had that happen to one of mine)
For disassembly, see if you can take the cap off the butt end and find a piece of dowel the right size to fit down in there and lightly tap it on the ground to drive the top out.

Twist back and forth a lil bit when putting it in and taking it out
