First time out on the surf! Missed high tide, but managed landed 5 during low tide.
Caught my PB …bottom left.

It was pretty windy so I was chucking a 1.5oz Carolina rig with a berkley sandworm.
I was having trouble knowing when to set the hook the whole day. I got a ton of nibbles, but I was either setting the hook too early, to late, or they were just nibbling the tail. I tried fishing the outgoing tide at one point and got a handful of nibbles, but I never got one hooked. As soon as the tide turned to incoming, I was able to hook up. I don’t think I was doing anything different. If anything, maybe I was feeling a little slower. Is that normal?
