Just got a new scott g series 884 and this is how far down the pieces go together. Is this normal of should they full meet?

Snug it there will be a gap. If you go tooo tight you have a whole other problem. Get some ferrule wax. Nice rod.

Remember to wax those, but yeah, that’s about where they line up.
It’s a small tolerance, but if they went just a bit smaller you run the risk of the ferrules being even slightly loose, which would be bad. Enjoy that rod, I have an old 5wt G and it is something special.
