Don’t use a rag when handling fish.

Just a heads up, if you are catch and release fishing, don’t use a towel to grab a fish. The towel will soak up the fish’s slime coat, which is vital to keeping the fish healthy and free from infection and bacteria in the water. Not necessarily a death sentence but it definitely puts the fish at a big disadvantage until it can replenish the coat.
If you keeping it to eat then no worries but just a little friendly advice for you

They should start to feed heavily in the fall. Live minnows and slip floats around structure in 4-12 feet of water. Hope you keep some, as they’re excellent eating. Good luck!
