Caught these guys dipnetting at night in NJ.
In order:
1. Spotted hake
2. Tautog
3. Northern pipefish
4. Blue angelfish (tropical stray)
5. Spotted butterfly fish (tropical stray)
6. Skilletfish
7. Sand lance
8. Northern seahorse
9. Grubby
10. Black seabass

  1. Nice haul! I’ve caught a number of Skilletfish via net here in VA – they are neat little fish, even if somber in color.

  2. #4 and #5 are crazy for NJ no? never seen anything like that in RI. never heard of a tropical stray before but i guess it makes sense things push their boundaries.
