This is an old diawa eliminator SURF custom with an old diawa spinning reel which I don’t know the name of, please let me know if there’s anything I need to change before hitting the surf, aswell as what line test I should be using.

Where/ what are you targeting?
I would upgrade that reel and put some braided line on the new one. Like Power Pro or Fireline. That reel looks a little small. Although, it’s hard to tell. Maybe just buy some 20 or 30 pound test braided line and try your luck. Also how long is the rod?
