My 2004 USMC Field Jacket.
It’s not very warm
Not water proof but I can spray it with Scotch Guard to make it repel lite rainfall.
High pockets
Fairly short waisted
Sleeves can Velcro pretty tightly if modified
There is a rain hood of sorts

If it works for you..
I appreciate the nostalgia of it, but it’s the opposite of what I’d want near water, or for the application. If wading, it’s probably dangerous TBH

One of the best things about getting out was getting rid of all my mediocre USMC kit and getting decent outdoor clothes.
Try hunting clothes from places like Bass Pro to get good quality without the orvis price tag.
