Have the Orvis Sling and Fishpond cross current chest pack but would like to try a vest. Would be for both fly fishing and ultra light lure fishing.
Must be able to carry small water bottle and toilet paper! One thing I don’t like about my cross current is when wading, can’t see my feet and this looks like it could be the answer PLUS an added bonus of another layer this winter to keep me a bit warmer!

Idk how the Orvis vest is but I love my Simms guide vest. It honestly has too many pockets lol I always end up wanting to fill everything and not use the majority of it.. but I would rather have too much spec than not enough. I was in the same boat as you having tried just about every option on the market from sling pack, hip pack, chest pack, backpacks and between sore hips and shoulders I landed on the vest for my tackle and wearing a heavy duty wading belt for all the heavy stuff. Troutbitten has a video on his setup and honestly it may be the best option. It distributes the weight on your hips and your back.
