Hello, I have a new pflueger medalist that's been great for the last 3 outings but as I was winding my line in to get off the river for the day I noticed a clunking in the reel while winding. After taking it off and playing with it it's gotten worse and has started completely missing the clicker for half a turn then will re engage. Everything internally seems to be fine and in working order but is still missing the clicker and clunking. Pawls seem to be correct too.
Any help?

Did you get sand in it? Check the spindle hole for rocks. Wipe off any grease with sand in it. Check that the teeth on the spool sprocket are clean, and that the springs holding the pawls are intact.
If you have shop nearby, have them look at it. If not, any mechanic can diagnose it in a minute.
