Hoping everyone is off to a great start with their ice season so far! Northern Indiana isn’t quite there yet but I’m hopeful we will see ice by January. Looking to purchase a new spud bar and thought about purchasing the pry bar linked below. Would this work?

I know they’re a bit spendy when you only use them a few times a year, but you’ll be happier with a real spud bar. You want something long and heavy that also has a loop for your wrist. You can chisel ice with that but you’ll have a hell of a time spudding your way out even a couple hundred yards.
I strongly recommend something like [this](https://www.scheels.com/p/72388895189/?store=62&cq_src=google_ads&cq_cmp=22022145107&cq_con=175664633641&cq_term=&cq_med=pla&cq_plac=&cq_net=g&cq_pos=&cq_plt=gp&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAiA9vS6BhA9EiwAJpnXw8NzOUsVr2yKWXYKysduETt8OqNN1FCZAWwff-jcMmAuxLaVK1kWvRoCwrEQAvD_BwE) or [this](https://www.fleetfarm.com/detail/lakes-rivers-59-5-in-chisel-one-piece/0000000233954?Ntt=100602621&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAiA9vS6BhA9EiwAJpnXw1RB9W9ue1YdORh70aBvjazdW–Vj6_mz0QFDZbHHYr8oA88aLChTRoChVgQAvD_BwE).
