Hey fellow anglers
I love my heated socks, and Orvis pro heavy pants, but it's Christmas, and I really want to know what people use for fishing jackets and hand warmth when it's freezing cold out. Do you use fishing branded stuff or other gear brands? Down or synthetic? Layer or primary? Heated??
My Montana friend that fishes all winter has great mittens that flip open, and have hand warmer pockets in them, but they don't make those anymore and I've struggled to find ones on sale so far.
I don't have much personal insulation, and my hands get the coldest. My camping cold weather down jacket is high vis orange, so need something with muted colors to fish with, since that was to avoid getting shot in hunting territory. I like Orvis stuff, there's a local store, but I don't want to limit it to them. But for their choices, is the Pro Insulated Hoodie snow weather worthy? How about the Pro HD? Just noticed it went on sale. Orvis makes convertible ones, but they don't have good reviews on the insulated ones.
Helps?
