It doesn’t matter what anyone in this thread says. Would you rather have the auger or would you rather have $100

You couldn’t give it to me.

Nope wouldn’t pay a dime for it, I heard I gas auger on the lake today and my son looks at me and goes what’s that noise. Offer him $20 no one buys gas augers and even if they did that’s way overpriced

Better than spending 500 on an electric auger.

I drag everything in my sled. If you drag everything with a snow machine have at it. I had a gas auger for years and scoffed at the electric. Finally a buddy of mine got a Kdrill and another got an Eskimo. After spending one day with the electric auger, I pitched the gas for the electric. Got an m18 2920 and started to replace all my Bosch with milwaukeee stuff and it really was the largest upgrade i have made.
Not sure where you live but if you have more than 2 feet of ice…maybe, maybe. 30 inches can get a little limited with electric.

Look for a propane jiffy auger I got one around the same price. Still runs great after years of use.

If you already own a cordless drill, it’s crazy to think about this. You can get a clam plate and auger for almost the same price.

No, the days of gas augers are over, especially for $100. I stopped last year and looked at a 10” gas auger a guy had for sale for $20. I debated buying it and the guy ended up just giving it to me just to get rid of it. I use an 8”Eskimo pistol bit and have only used the 10” auger to drill holes in dirt for pouring concrete footings. If you need an auger, I’d give the guy $20 max for that. Otherwise, if you have an electric drill, I’d look for a used pistol bit, k-drill, or any of the other brands. You can also buy a brand new vevor ice auger for less than $100. After having an ice auger with a drill I’d never go back to dragging a gas auger out on the ice.

If you have a decent 18 or 20v drill and a hand auger, buy and adapter and save yourself $50
