Does the new geared clam plate take stress off of your drill or just make it easier on your hands? Using the drill without a plate has never been an issue for my hands, but I'm on my 3rd Milwaukee Fuel and I'd like to take stress off the drill. Thoughts?

It will take stress off the drill. The auger bit is carried by the shaft and bearing assembly on the plate instead of by the chuck. This takes lateral loads off the drill, which it really wasn’t designed for
It won’t make it easier for the drill, just to hold onto
What kind of milwaukee drill are you using? You shouldn’t be burning though drills like that, im on my 3rd year with my milwaukee with heavy use over the summer and it’s still going strong
