Learned a Lesson, was fishing in about 7 feet of water, phone slipped, spent awhile getting it back. Tied a skimmer to a stick and was eventually able to get it back after it fully submerged in a mud a few times……and yes the phone still worked perfectly with no case..

  1. The only reason I own an Apple Watch is due to my fishing hobby. My phone never leaves the cabin/truck. I am a klutz.

Dang nice work! When my phone fell down into the depths below last winter I had no such ingenuity nor ability to save it.

  3. Your face says it all. We have all been there before. Luckily it was 7’ and not more. I used a magnet one time and got very lucky.

A few years back I landed a pike at a hut operator we go to every year. In the excitement, my whiskey flask which I’ve had for 10ish years dropped down the hole into about 20’. Figured it was a sacrifice I had to make to the fishing gods.

A couple weeks later some guys were fishing out of the same hut and one of them hooks my flask — brings it up and catches a big pike a short while later. They all took a swig out of the flask to celebrate — then returned the flask to the hut operator, who announced the story on their Facebook group & I got my flask back. We are back to enjoying it with its ice water cooled whiskey (that has obviously been topped up a few times).

I was connected with the guy who retrieved the flask to send him my eternal thanks. He said it tasted delicious. I told him it’s ice chilled Red Breast Irish 12 yr old. Good stuff.

    Congrats on your retrieval!
