I caught My first brown trout from the ice thanks to a guy who asked me to watch his rods for 10 min while he ran to his truck. Very cool dude. Hooked me up with some shiners afterwards too. Catskills.

Are there landlocked salmon in the lake? This looks like an Atlantic Salmon, but both Atlantic salmon and brown trout are in the same genus and look similair,

Nice!!!! Me and a buddy set up a portable for warming up the other day while we hole hopped. It was cold but we were following schools. A friendly fellow ice fisherman offered my buddy to come fish in his ice castle. Should have taken him up on it and made a new friend but we were wearing $500 ice suits and actively fishing. We were fine. The ethical ice fishing community never ceases to amaze me with kindness.
