I went and checked some ice at a local pond. It's about 2.5-3" thick out past the thin edges. With single digit Temps yesterday, today, and tomorrow and a slightly warmer week. I'm hoping to be able to get out and fish it Saturday but 2 warmer days doesn't make me hopeful. I will obviously spud the ice and wear all my safety gear. Just jonesing to ice these ponds, we only get to once a winter if we are lucky. Of course no one knows what the ice is going to do and safety is much more a priority than fishing these ponds. But for sake of conversation, what do you guys speculate the ice does?
