15 inches of ice at an old rock quarry that gets flooded by a local river. Used a 27 inch light rod and worms. Little guys/gals put up a fight. All released
Try not using anything other than line to hook and you might catch a fish. If you’re using braid there is no reason to use a swivel. No line twist. Maybe use jigs or something else that isn’t 80% metal 20% bait. Smaller is better 90% of the time especially if just targeting panfish

Tie directly to the hook
