I love fly fishing for pike. The picture is from a local lake. My local river (UK) opens on April 1st and I know it holds a few jack pike, nothing much over 3-4lbs. The problem is that it's quite a small river and I normally fish a 7ft6 3wt which is way too small to fish my normal pike lures.
Has anyone had consistent success targeting jacks with smaller flies and if so which patterns have you found effective?

I’ve not tried going that light but I can’t see any reason why a cat’s whisker or similar small trout lure wouldn’t work. You could probably even use an unweighted one if you Zinked it up.
I catch northern pike in the US on woolly buggers as small as size 10. Never bothered to throw anything bigger than a 4. Fish do not seem to object.
