I really donāt like fighting butts on rods because of this. If you can get the fish on the reel without a half-hitch around the butt, all is well. But Iāve lost a lot of fish over the years because of that first run flipping line over the fighting butt.

Fishing is all about time on the water and luck once you have it dialled in. Dude had tennis handle wrap on his rod and it was his 10th year he put his time in and this is how it happens.
