Helluva a fight; 30minutes, almost got me snagged multiple times on brush piles, almost broke the rod multiple times, pulled the kayak around, went deep into my backing… insanely hectic overall. Arms were shaking holding this fish due to the weight. My buddy and I want to say it was ~40-50lbs (which would be an unofficial state record on the fly and 20-30lbs just seems too light).
Caught with a damsel nymph on an 8wt TFO Blitz. 12 or 16lb leader!! First fish on that rod too!
