I’ve been fly fishing more and more over the last year and my grandpa gave me some of his old fly fishing gear. 2 of the things he gave me were this rod and reel. He isn’t sure where or when he got these. Can anyone tell me anything about this rod/reel?

The rod is a sage, as it says, sage is a very good and well known brand, the reel is a company called STH I think and someone on Google said that is a decent reel, have fun and tight lines!
The Graphite II DS series was Sage’s entry level series for many years. My guess is you have an early 90s model there, but I’m trying to remember timeliness from memory here…. back when I worked in the industry someone told me they were nothing more than an unfinished Sage LL… not sure about the truth to that.
In any case, you have a work horse of a rod there that will fish wonderfully if you use it.
The reel is an STH. I think you can find some still floating around for about $250 if they are in good shape. When they hit the market, they targeted the mid range price point and we’re pretty solid reels for the most part.
