Guys asking a reasonable price, but looks like it’s a pedal kayak without the drive system. Question is, will any pedal drive work? Do I need the drive system to use it with a paddle? Could I modify a trolling motor into the slot if I wanted to?

Eventually I’d like to get a pedal drive and would much rather save some cash until I’m ready to buy a big boy kayak when my finances are right.

Mass-produced Chinese kayak relabeled and sold under many brands. Coincidentally, the very next post on my Reddit feed was the same exact kayak, labeled under the Brooklyn Kayak brand: [https://www.reddit.com/r/kayakfishing/comments/1k0orwo/beginner_kayak/](https://www.reddit.com/r/kayakfishing/comments/1k0orwo/beginner_kayak/)

And no, not just any pedal drive will fit. You have to get one that was made for this kayak (it will be a prop drive, not a fin drive). You may be able to buy one from Brooklyn, but this kayak is not currently sold on their website so I’m not sure their current pedal drive will fit this hull.

You can paddle it but it will be miserable, you’ll get tired of that after 1 trip or less.
