This kayak was posted on Facebook Marketplace and is local. Is this Kayak too much for someone new and looking to start kayaking?

You can never have to much kayak but that looks cheap. Is it a brand name cause they are definitely not all built equally.

Did you try searching for the company or the model?

Brooklyn Kayak is simply a badge they slap on a generic imported Chinese boat. That said, any kayak will ‘work’, it just depends how hard you use it. I’ve known people to wear out Hobies very quickly because they’re fishing 4 days a week!

I might suggest as a beginner, purchasing a used kayak. Something like a hobie, old town, vibe, pelican etc.
Inevitably, it’s going to be a learning experience and these are all brands with decent product support, lots of resources like videos on YouTube, and parts/upgrades will prob be easier.
My understanding is BKC is a mass produced Chinese kayak manufacture. Very similar to the less expensive Chinese kayaks being sold on Alibaba.
