Hi all! I’m planning on purchasing the PDL 106. I like the Steel Blue color. However being that it’s a dark color I’m wondering if it will be more susceptible to heating up in direct sunlight and burning my feet if I’m barefoot. Does anyone else have this color that can let me know your thoughts? Thanks!

actually looks alot more blue than the picture they show. I was pleasantly surprised to see the color when it showed up! I live in Florida and leave mine outside so it gets the heat treatment for sure

They all get hot. Some also get really bright. But that father color’s gonna be a lot easier on the eyes.

  3. I’ve had a few different kayaks over the years and they all get hot. I had the same thought process as you at some point, but the difference is marginal. all the track pads are black too, regardless of the color of the kayak. besides, that area is usually wet. I had scupper plugs in at first, but after the first time you lift the pedal drive to clear weeds, it’ll all be wet. the plugs just prevented the water from leaving. those plugs that let water out that it came with didn’t seem to work all that well for me. I just recently bought my PDL 106 in orange. had a close call once with a boat and wanted something more visible this time around. you’re gonna love it.

All the decks have black padding so hull color shouldn’t matter when it comes to your feet getting hot.
