I had what seemed to me was a healthy 29 gallon tank with plenty of active and lively fish. I started getting a lot of algae growing though, so I went to PetSmart and bought 3 golden snails. I acclimated them, then put them in the tank before I went to work. 9 hours later, I come back and the snails didn’t move at all and 3 fish had died, the rest looking very sick and unwell. They all stay put swimming in place on the floor or hide profusely, vs being lively around the tank just that morning and the last month in the same exact setting. 2 dalmatian mollies and 1 corydora died. Why did this happen all of a sudden? Did a crazy ammonia spike happen? Could the snails had parasites/a disease? Did I let the algae grow too long? Anybody PLEASE reply with questions and advice to try and save my remaining fish, it’s been a full 24 hours and a 50% water change and a 25% change and they’re still acting very sick and close to dead.
The tank was filled with more props and hidey spots and plants but I took most of everything out bc I’m not sure what’s causing this.

Is the tank cycled ? Did you condition ur water ? Did you check your parameters ? Did they look ok ? cuz I got no info on that If the answer is yes to all of these then u could have got a dead snail and ammonia spiked if you don’t know how to answer those or they are no thats a good place to start and I’m not tryna be mean I’m just being honest

Edit :for more information on why I said this it looks like u just got a fish tank basics no research and said fish need water food thats it
