Quick question that I'm hoping someone here can help me with. What is that black cord that runs along the side of my Kayak from the bow to the stern. Basically, the entire length of my Kayak.
I just traded for this kayak today and took it out for the first time to get acclimated. The guy I got it from explained it was a fish stringer, but he didn't seem confident it that explanation. I have a feeling it's something different. Each end has a caribeaner clip and a pulley. The middle has a plastic black ring. Yep, I'm new and learning and would like to know what it's for. I used it today to tie off at the dock while I got things in and out of my Kayak. Thanks for any help you'll can provide!
It's an Ascension 12T if that makes a difference. Thanks again!

Its an anchor trolley
Probably an anchor trolley system? I can’t really see though
It’s to attach an anchor. It allows some movement so you don’t get swamped by waves or current.
I would assume it’s to run an anchor, but so you can put it at either end of the boat and access it from your seat. I did a DIY one on my 2-man ocean yak, and it’s so useful for changing ends when the tide turns, especially when I’m by myself. I have a drift chute attached at the opposite side, and it works wonders for stability.

Sorry, I was having problems with reddit allowing me to upload a picture and did what I could. I probably should have asked that you’ll zoom in if possible. That’s what I told the guy I thought it was…an anchor trolley system. Thanks for the input.
