I have these pre bough hair rigs and I've noticed that when using this corn or pop up boilies that it causes the whole leader line from the feeder to float. Is it supposed to be that way or do I need a small weight to keep the leader /hair rig from floating up off the bottom 4-5inches. I've heard of people using tungsten putty? Can I use a split shot or nah? Thank you

You can use split shot but it does wear on the leader line, people use tungsten to avoid possible abrasion from clamp weights.
