The other day I impulse bought an Eagle Claw UL pistol grip. This is the whippiest thing I’ve ever felt. It’s nuts. Line rating 2-6 pounds. The problem, no reel I can find is appropriate for it. It’s clearly made for a spincast, but almost all spincast reels start at 8lb line. Aside from some very high end BFS baitcasters, what can I put on this?

  1. Zebco Omega Pro Z02. They’re all metal, built like tanks inside and throw anything you put on em. The come stock with 6lb but 4 works fine for my kid.

I have an unused one I can set you up with if you can’t find a decent deal.

zebco micro 33’s come pre-spooled with 4 lb if you want to go spincast route.

    I’ve got a zebco micro gold 33 on a 4’10 rod and it’s awesome.

I also have a doviello BMC100(same manufacturer as the HICC50) on the same 4’10 rod and that’s a blast too

If going new I’d go with the micro 33, or if you can find an 80 size daiwa silvercast. You can always respool a bigger spincaster with lighter line as well. If you want to hit a few yard sales you can find some cool old spincast reels for cheap. I have a nice abumatic 120 that’s just plain fun with 6lb line but it would work with 4lb easily.

  5. I put a hicc50 from Ali on it and even though
I’ve gone down the expensive bfs route I still love the combo . The higher end stuff if you move up is better but different feel, this is still fun to come back to.
