I can get free crotch shots elsewhere, I’d rather see the the casts and the scenery from behind (option 2)

If you only have one camera, angle two. Angle one becomes useful when you have multiple cameras to cut back and forth from.

Camera 2 for the fishing, camera 1 to show off the catch. That’s how NDYakangler does it, and it’s a solid setup.

Over the shoulder is always best. Of you want your face occasionally to talk to the camera or show the fish, get another camera, a cheaper one is fine and turn on and off as needed for that angle
