So figured it was time to give fishing a try and snagged a new-old-stock Ugly Stik SPL 1100 up for a song (~$20). Not much comes up on Google but it appears to predate the GX2…? I plan on fishing lakes and maybe streams/rivers close by, mostly trout. Is this worth keeping or should I try to flip it and get an ultralight instead? And if I do keep it, what size reel and line should I get? 2500/8lb? Pointers appreciated!
