Sorry this is a total pity post. Broke my lower arm/wrist March 20 (Colles fracture). Had to get surgery April 1 to have a plate and 7 screws put in. Am right handed and that’s the one I broke 😭
Got my cast off yesterday but still have to wear this splint 24/7 for the next 6 weeks. And I have a ROAD of PT in front of me. Just to get to a place of normalcy in life. Can’t even turn a door knob or use a pair of scissors right now.
Ortho says everything progressing as it should. I guess I’m just frustrated and bummed with pace. Everyone and every resource says to not rush things and so I try to keep that in mind.
I was hoping to be able to yak and fish by late July/early August. Idk now. Totally wipes all my summer plans. So bummed. Here is looking to the fall season which is my favorite anyway.

I should mention that I have a perception Pescador, so no pedal drive for me, lol. But even if so…unloading, loading, using a rod…no-go.
Thinking of getting a tenkara rod just to mess around with my left arm.
Broke my metacarpal on 3/31. Just now doing PT and weening off the brace. Been bank fishing but luckily I’ll still be able to hit late summer smallmouth and fall time largies.
Do the PT like you are going to the gym. Work as hard as you can, and do the same exercises on both arms.
You’ll be back faster than you think.
