Upgrading from a 7" humminbird Helix to a Garmin UHD2 94SV. The mount for the Helix is already a little wobbly so I need to update the mounting situation for the new, larger unit.
My big question is: why are RAM mounts so expensive? Is it all hype or is there a quality/performance reason to pay an extra $45 for the RAM mount?

Ram mounts are all aluminum. They make composite ones for about $35
The Scotty one looks solid. But I believe I don’t pay much for my ram mounts
