I’m new to fishing and have been doing pretty well with top water. I decided to try a Texas rigged senko and tongue hooked this bass. He was bleeding quite a bit and when I put him back in the water he laid on his side for a few seconds then kicked his tail and took off. I feel awful though. Is it normal to feel bad when things like this happen?

Yeah I caught about 30 in this private pond in the last two weeks and tongue hooked one of them. Felt bad for the dude but it happens once in a while. Bigger fish gonna eat him
