The video doesn't really show how close these boats got but each was probably 25 yards from my bank spot. I feel like they ruined my spot and my afternoon. If you have a boat, the whole lake is your oyster, don't crowd people on the bank.

  1. WoofWoofster on

This is why I never go bank fishing without a beath 3/4 oz Little Cleo spoon and a back up rod and reel with a 60-80 lb braid.

  2. Honestly I’m not kind to boaters who pull up close to me on land. Verbally I keep it kind and respectful. All while I’m casting my lure right by their boat. Had one exchange during a solo night fishing outing.

Boat pulled up with 20~ yards between me and them. I had a lantern alight next to me. So they knew I was there. The entire time I am casting past their boat without a care. Finally they speak up

“You know you could hit us with that or even worse hook one of us?”

“I understand that. However, you two are on a boat. Where you have access to the entire body of water. I however, do not. I have been here the entire time. If you did not care about that kind of situation happening as you pulled up close to me. Then why would you care now?”

They stayed silent for a minute before one of them said have a good night and they pulled away.

Boat fishermen are not above bank fishermen. Respect the water, respect the fish, respect each other.

Thank you for coming to my ted talk xD
