Hey everyone, I have a 10’6 Tsunami Airwave and I need advice on how I should proceed. I was using it this week to cast artificial lures with 20lb suffix braid when it chipped the plastic eyelid causing my line to get caught on it and break.
Unfortunately this rod is well past warranty. I was going to bring this rod for my upcoming gulf shores trip this weekend to fish with me but I was wondering if I could still use this rod if I either file down the plastic in the eyelid or perhaps put electrical tape over it.
If I really need to, I can go out and buy another surf rod to use for my fishing trip but I would prefer not to spend the additional money. Let me know what’s the best thing I should do

Just replace the tip use a lighter heat it up and pop it comes off don’t over heat it
just get a new tip top and some tip top adhesive. heat the old one and it’ll slide off. slide on the new tip top and follow the instructions for putting the tip top glue on. that’s prob a size 8 tip top.

Walk into a reputable tackle store and have them replace the tip with a good quality one. Most tackle shops have a budget tip and a quality tip choice. It will take 5 minutes and probably cost $20. It’s a very common repair.
