Li’l NorAZ day trip action this afternoon. The wind was being a real son of a bitch, so I didn’t even bother trying anything from the shore. Set the anchor and worked a sinker for a bit, then moved into the Kastmaster. No joy.
Swapped over to a Rooster Tail trolled against the current and nabbed these two, taking on plenty of water in the swells for my troubles. On the third pass I was trying to bank and sweep back around when I hooked up with something vicious and the combination of its fight, the current, and the turn yanked my pole right outta the cradle and into the drink.
But hey – didn’t get skunked and got some good eating.
