So this was the first time going out in the Gulf with the trolling motor. I've installed two of these connectors on my Outback. Once for the trolling motor and one for the Humminbird (yeah, it's an overkill connector for that). Was out for about four hours and when i got home and cleaned out the boat, the connector for the trolling motor had ALOT of corrosion in/on it, like it had been used for months. No corrosion at all the one for the fish finder. I'm assuming this is because of the amount of current being drawn by the motor. Anything I can do to prevent that corrosion when I'm using it in Saltwater (that's the only place i fish). I neutralized it with baking soda, rinsed, and dried both ends of the connector.
