I have narrowed my FB marketplace search to these two kayaks. They are both the original version with the round Tupperware hatch in the front (not the X or Max or any of the new versions). Each are the same price ($1200) and about an hour and a half away. They both have a boondocks rudder upgrade and come with comparable accessories. This will be my first pedal drive kayak and I am coming from a Feel Free Lure 10. I like the stability of the Lure, and am excited to add the pedaling experience. Some factors for me:
-Loading / unloading is a non factor as we have an enclosed trailer set up for our yaks and I always go out with my son so there are 2 people to load / unload.
-We fish mainly lakes, I would say they are on the smaller side. We do have access to bigger water, but we have not gone out there yet, but maybe will in the future. We also have a river near by that we wanted to float in the future.
-I am about 5'7" and 180lbs. I have decent balance and I find the Lure to be pleasant to stand and fish from.
The main differences I can find about these two yaks are the stability, weight, and space. I think the Slayer is less stable, but not sure if that is a deal breaker as it looks as stable as the Lure is from what I can tell. The speed, based on videos, seems comparable but id imagine the Titan is a hair slower. The maneuverability with the boondocks rudder seems to be outstanding on both. I typically take 4 rods and a small tackle box with me out on the water, so I am not packing heavy. I guess I am just unsure of which way to go since they are both comparable in price and distance. Any advice would be great!
