I’ve got an 8ft medium moderate-fast 3/4-2oz offshore angler rod from bass pro. I’ve been using a #1 hook size pompano rig and a 2oz pyramid weight fishing with sand flees. I’ve not had any luck all day because my bait keeps getting swung up on the bank because the surf has been so rough. Would it be wise to get some 2oz Sputnik weights or 3oz? The rod easily handles the 2oz pyramids.
