Hello. I imagine this has been posted many times before, but I just took delivery of a new Old Town Sportsman PDL 106 and upon inspecting the underside of it, noticed some damage. It appears the hull was either laid on a hot piece of metal at one point, or it was rubbed during transport. I'm probably overreacting but just want to get a second opinion. Thanks!

Generally kayaks are gonna get scratches with use and are not much to worry about. But this looks like a big gash below the waterline. I would worry about it constantly. I recommending doing everything you can to seek a replacement as soon as possible.
You can fix it. It isnt that bad. The picture exagerates. You should request they pay for a repair.
100% not cosmetic.
Tell them to replace it or dispute the charge with your CC company.
