Folks!
I just bought this Yakima extender for my Kayak – I'm just curious if others use this for a single kayak and if so, how best to keep it from sliding side to side on the rail (I'm using a bungee cord right now and it does 'ok' but slides more than I expected. The bar also is less rigid than I had thought it would be (I think this design is mainly for 2 kayaks – with 2 on there I don't think this would be an issue) (also note I do have it tied inside the bed you can kind of see the orange strap)

Thanks for any thoughts! Either way great to get on the water !

    1. Adjust the height of the extender so its level with your tailgate. Your kayak should be laying flat for its entire length along the bed, tailgate, and bed extender.
    2. Put some padding on it like a pool noodle or similar, so the kayak has something to grip and won’t want to slide around. Adjust height per point #1 above to accommodate any padding.
    3. You’ve gotta be joking with that bungee cord. Get a real strap and strap it down using the attachment points at each end of the extender.
