Okay so I have a perception showdown for a kayak and I’m trying to find a good battery box for my trolling motor. I took out my foot drive pedal and replaced it with the trolling motor so I can now pull it up as the pedal drive used to be. However the way this kayak is designed there’s no front waterproof hull and I would ideally like to set my battery up front to balance the kayak. However when this thing is going into some choppy water (I fish a relatively large lake) it spears waves pretty bad and takes on a bit of water which the scupper holes have no problem dealing with. However there’s at least an inch of water at times up there. I would love to upgrade my kayak in the future but dicks had a good deal on it awhile back so I went for a cheap one. But now that I’m upgrading into the motor, does anyone know of a good box or should I not even bother putting it up front and just try to reorient my stuff to the back. Also the soft / hard shell case that came with is in fact not very water resistant. Everything I had in there was very wet so I moved it to the back and my battery for my helix has been fine since.
