Hey all first time caller long time listener. Avid fisherman but lack the capacity to own a hard kayak or other fishing vessel and got this inflatable last year at Costco and had the idea to add some modifications to make it a better fishing kayak. Armed with a sewing machine, 3d printer and fusion 360 I aim to make something quick and simple to assemble and deploy yet fully removable so the family can also use it as a recreational kayak.
So far I've made a seat with modified strapping, and made some cinch straps to anchor down the milk crate.
Im using a kayak anchor and a carabiner to keep me stationary but it's crude.
So next steps are fabricating a transducer mount and rod holder. I have 1/2 inch PVC conduit and a heat gun and 3d printer or old aluminum balusters to make what I need but trying to figure out if I should mount it to the milk crate or make something that straps to the side or glue on a Scottie mount.
Any feedback is valued! She ain't pretty it she's mine
