Found a tiny weeded pond on Inatralist with a lot of reports of central mudminnow, went there with my micro hooks and within a minute I caught one. Caught many more, 1 of which being a pretty big 4 inch one. They’re a really cool species that kinda look like baby bowfin

I love mudminnows! Definitely underrated species. When you see them swim, its definitely easy to see the resemblance to the closely related Pikes.
