I tie/sell my own flies and normally I use barbless hooks or pinch the barb coming off the vice (for myself) Unfortunately this time I did neither and the hook point almost came all the way through my damn finger 😢 Won’t make that mistake again

Yikes, I feel your pain on that, hope it wasnt too bad of a removal.
I’ve seen two of these this morning and I’m about to leave for a week of fishing at the beach. Hope this isn’t a bad omen lol.
Ouch! I’m waiting for this to happen to me one day. I always crush my barbs as well. Mostly for the fish but also to avoid a more complicated diy hook removal.
