Went for a wonderful trout hunting trip, last Sunday! Unfortunately, broke my trout rod by the end of the trip, don’t ask, it was super-stupid, as it always happen! 😶‍🌫️

Was using Major Craft Corkish (CKS-602L), for years. Great rod, no doubt, but… discontinued.

Looking for a new one, with a budget around 200-250,- € (EU/JDM price tag). Personally, looking at Major Craft Finetail Tune (FGW-462UL). Looks like a decent replacement, and close to broken model. Opinions, other model, brand advices are more than welcomed 🫶

Thanks!

  1. I use a St. Croix 7′ Trout in L for a majority of my trout fishing. It’s been working great for me. No complaints here. I typically fish streams but I opted for a longer rod as I wanted to use it for finesse bass techniques as well when I head to the more northern Ontario lakes. I hooked into a 16/17 inch rainbow recently and it handled the fish really well. I’ve heard pretty unfun things about some of St. Croix models but personally I haven’t run into any issues with any of the rods I have by them.
